Super Falcons-Eligible Shot-Stopper Ude Extends Arsenal Deal to 2027

Chiemela Ude, the Super Falcons-eligible goalkeeper, has renewed her contract with Arsenal securing her stay until the end of the 2026–2027 season. She earned promotion to the club’s under-21 squad and joined the travelling group for pre-season training in Kamloops, Canada.

Announcing the news on Instagram, Ude said she is "Proud to be part of the team and ready to keep pushing, learning, and growing every step of the way." Her message also paid tribute to departing teammates Ayomide and Omotara Junaid, whom she said she would "definitely miss" but wished "all the best" in their journeys.

Since joining Arsenal in the 2021–2022 season winning the battle for her signature against London rivals—the 2008-born goalkeeper has helped the side lift the Capital Women’s Senior Cup and featured in the FA PGA Champions Cup. She also holds a provisional cap-tie to England after appearing in a UEFA Women’s U17 Championship qualifier.

Editorial

We welcome Ude’s decision to stay at Arsenal as a vote of confidence in both herself and the club’s long-term vision. Securing her future until 2027, her trajectory from young academy hopeful to an under-21 squad member speaks of steady progression and potential.

Her inclusion in the Canada training camp demonstrates the club’s belief in her readiness and growing importance. We believe that training in such environments sharpens both ability and mindset an important foundation for future success.

Leaving is often easier than staying, yet Ude’s choice shows ambition aligned with patience. Armed with a new contract and fresh experiences, she stands ready to build on her early achievements. Let this extension mark the beginning of a new chapter—one filled with promise and purpose.
